Does the License Server ONLY installation requires database install?

Once DTP is installed - can I simply switch to License Server skipping the DB configuration part?

I have been using DTP with Embedded DB for quite sometime on my laptop and forgot the answer to this question :)

    DTP can be used without DB, but you still need provide license for DTP with only License Server.
