Application Developer or Eclipse?
Integrating with WebSphere Studio Application Developer or Eclipse

This topic describes how to integrate WebKing with IBM WebSphere Studio Application Developer 5.0 or 5.1, or Eclipse 2.0 or 2.1.

To integrate WebKing and WebSphere Studio or Eclipse:

1. If you have not already done so, close WebSphere Studio or Eclipse and start WebKing.

2. Choose File> IDE Integration> [your IBM WebSphere Studio Application Developer or Eclipse version] in the WebKing GUI. WebKing will then open a dialog box that displays the WebSphere Studio or Eclipse installation directory it detected. If this is not the correct directory, change the directory by typing the path to the correct
directory or by browsing to that directory.

Next, WebKing will place the necessary files in the WebSphere Studio or Eclipse plugin directory, and you will be ready to use WebKing with WebSphere Studio or Eclipse. For instructions on working with WebKing and WebSphere Studio or Eclipse, open the WebKing plugin help available in WebSphere Studio or Eclipse by choosing Help> Help Contents, then double-clicking the item for the WebKing Plug-in book (available in the left contents panel).

After you integrate WebKing and WebSphere Studio or Eclipse, WebKing tools that analyze the code within specific kinds of files (including HTML, XML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and VBScript/ASP) will be available from within the WebSphere Studio or Eclipse workbench. For example, tools that operate in this context include (but are not limited to) Check Web Standards, Check Web Accessibility, Check XML, Check Links, Check Spelling, Cleanup HTML, Cleanup XML, and custom CodeWizard Rule Enforcers). If you have more advanced needs-- such as functionality verification, load testing, regression testing, traffic analysis, or deployment-- you can have the WebKing plug-in transfer WebSphere Studio or Eclipse projects into WebKing, then test them using the WebKing GUI. WebKing error messages will be reported in the WebSphere Studio or Eclipse task console, and the reports will be added to the WebSphere Studio or Eclipse developer project.
