Jtest 2025.2 Product Release Announcement
We are excited to introduce a comprehensive update to Parasoft Jtest. The 2025.2 release delivers powerful new AI-powered capabilities, enhanced integration options, and key usability improvements to streamline development workflows and elevate code quality. Here are the highlights:
Autonomous Unit Test Creation
Bulk Test Creation is no longer limited to IDE environments and can be integrated into automated build processes using tools such as Maven or Gradle. Create unit tests for uncovered code in modified files as part of your CI/CD pipeline, significantly reducing manual effort and ensuring test coverage autonomously.
The scope of test generation can be easily specified using pattern-based selection and filters based on source control integration. The new dedicated "Create Unit Tests" configuration simplifies setup and execution of test generation.
Intelligent Static Analysis Remediation
The feature leverages state-of-the-art LLM technology with Jtest to automatically remediate code violations in your CI/CD pipelines. Jtest identifies violations and uses AI to suggest accurate fixes, verifying each proposal to ensure issues are resolved without introducing new problems. Once validated, fixes are committed to your project’s working branch for manual review before merging.
Enhanced AI Integration: MCP Server Extension for LLM Agents
Jtest tools can now be registered as a Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server extension, enabling smooth integration with LLM-based agents, such as Copilot in Eclipse, IntelliJ and Visual Studio Code. Your AI copilot can:
- Access and interpret static analysis results to help you identify violations, prioritize critical issues, and propose effective fixes.
- Consult rules and documentation so you can ask targeted questions, group or prioritize rules, and tailor static analysis configurations to your organization’s standards.
- Deliver actionable guidance from the user guide, assisting with feature explanations and how-to suggestions.
- In Visual Studio Code, run static analysis and review results directly through Copilot Chat in the Problems view.
Code Coverage Enhancements
- No license required to generate static coverage images using the coverage tools.
- Reuse Static Coverage Data: Report static coverage to multiple coverage images on DTP to reuse the data for coverage collected from functional or manual testing.
Static Analysis Enhancements
- Mathematical Function Support: Jtest now features improved support for mathematical functions. Flow Analysis can interpret mathematical behavior, enabling more accurate results and constraint handling during static analysis.
- Jakarta EE Support: Multiple rules were improved to support Jakarta EE applications.
