Scenario: all i want is to select the value stored from runtime in a writable data sheet and use it in subsequent json assertion but somehow, the data sheet isnt showing up in the dropdown.

I meant the column from that data sheet "runtime" isnt showing up in the dropdown

    Questions:

    • In your Writable Data Source, did you click "First row specifies column names"?
    • Did you check what column names you typed in the first row?
    • Did you save the editor after typing the column names you want?

Yes i specified everything and followed all you mentioned above , i will attach screen shot of the same, Infact i created separate workspace to see to get rid of all the other data sources that parasoft SOA test had in memory, but still it shows up everything , its a bug in the tool, it must display only the column names of data source tagged to that particular test suite or scenario

I tried setting up something similar. The columns are not accessible unless I first ran a test that added some rows (I used a JSON Data Bank tool). Then I was able to select the columns in my JSON Assertor. You may also need to close then re-open the tool's editor if you still don't see the columns being available.

Double check that you don't have two data sources both named "runtime" inside your tst file. That would yield non-deterministic results.

Agreed, but as i said i created a brand new workspace to avoid confusion of so many data sheets. But still it doesnt show up , restarted couple of times, restarted my laptop also .

Did you try what I described? Other tools are able to see columns just fine as long as I first run a test with a Data Bank to populate at least one row.
