How to test a persistence counter

I'm trying to write a test that runs through a C++ class that tests a persistence counter. Is there any way to set up a Data Source or Parameter block so that the class memory is not wiped between step calls?

I've tried putting in multiple Call blocks, which does at least get me to the end of the logic, but doesn't allow me to test the outputs in the middle of the persistence.

Jacob, we have a meeting setup for today to discuss. But yes, a Data Source seems to be the best solution.
