Permission on Virtual Assets under CTP
I am trying to admin our system and give permission to people to add/modify vitual assets under CTP. I have read the document [1] but am confused by the mention of "tests" and "test assets". My mind translates this as SOATest assets as compared to Virtualize assets. Should I be reading each time it says "test" as "test (including virtual assets)"? Or is there another document outlying the permission for all the Virtualize functionality under CTP?

Hi Ed,
Permissions to virtual assets are handled the same way as other test assets where the referenced documentation says "test assets (test scenarios, jobs, etc.)"
For a more Virtualize-specific document, I recommend looking at https://docs.parasoft.com/display/SOAVIRT9106CTP312/Configuring+user+Access+Control+for+Virtualize+Servers

Thanks Matt for the confirmation. I was thinking that "test assets" included "virtual assets" but was trying not to assume anything without confirmation. If I can give one bit of feedback I would add the word(s) "virtualize" or "virtual assets" somewhere in the specific table. As noted I see the word test all over it and get the strong impression that this is for SOATest only. That link helps too.

So checking in with some team members today I did not successfully give permissions to create/modify/delete virtual assets by just altering the permissions under pstsec. I needed to also alter Resource Permissions within CTP itself as outlined in this section - https://docs.parasoft.com/display/SOAVIRT9103CTP310/Defining+Users+and+Permissions#DefiningUsersandPermissions-resourcepermissionsSpecifyingAccesstoSpecificResources
I know the training course have just been updated (Aug 2019) so the old CTP course has not been moved over yet) but looking forward to doing that training to see where I might have missed something in the documentation or in my understanding.
