Parasoft SOAtest can validate Web service bindings and workflows built with and around the Sonic ESB in terms of functionality, interoperability, security and performance. Parasoft SOAtest is available to all customer-facing engineers for free.

Parasoft SOAtest assists Sonic consulting and customer facing engineers resulting in the following benefits
  1. Deliver demos that are easier and faster to setup and easier for audience to understand
  2. Accelerate ESB PoC and evaluation cycles with rapid end-to-end scenario creation, execution and analysis; both for functional and performance scenario executions
  3. More effective delivery of ESB training sessions
Here is how Parasoft SOAtest can deliver on these benefits
  • Rapidly construct test cases to exercise HTTP and JMS endpoints within the ESB with or without a WSDL. It uses the WSDL/schemas to create test artifact, with visual forms for configuring message content and test behaviors
  • Construct multi-step test scenarios (for BPEL or ESB processes) that include combinations of service providers and consumers over multiple transports or messing APIs. This spans synchronous and asynchronous messaging patters over HTTP and JMS, such as request-response, point-to-point, publish and subscribe, etc. SOAtests abilities go far beyond Sonic's JMS test client in this regards in terms of usability in constructing scenarios quickly and easily, and repeatability of tests, i.e., scenarios you create can be saved and executed (replayed) later.
  • Provides ability to emulate service endpoints as service providers in order to test ESB workflows in a stubbed environment to simplify complex test scenarios.
  • Easier interoperability validation with general WS-I and Parasoft's proprietary WSDL semantical validation tools in order to ensure that any WSDLs generated or modified by the ESB comply with the desired non-functional requirements
  • Reuse functional test scenarios to execute load tests with broad and deep scope of capabilities in customizing the load test scenarios, such as monitoring, configuration of expected QoS metrics, distribution on multiple machines and result analysis in order to drill down into performance issues and identify causes.
  • Turn test cases and test scenarios, including load tests, into repeatable/reusable assets, resulting in a suite of scenarios that can be reused for demos, training, various PoC elements, etc.
  • Share test cases with Parasoft to expedite and ease issue resolution, especially those related with BPEL since the Sonic ESB uses (OEM) Parasoft's BPEL engine.
